Accounting Careers Scavenger Hunt

Thinking about accounting as a career or major? Talk with accounting professionals from a variety of settings to learn more about what they do. You’ll have the chance to spend 5-10 minutes in small groups with each professional before moving on to the next. It’s a fun evening and a great way to make connections. Refreshments will be served.

SpeedNetworking Night One

Getting That Internship & Building Your Career Network

An Alumni panel shares their road to success including how they built their network during college. Students will then practice their elevator pitch with alumni professionals in a spirited, timed exchange. Refreshments will be served. Space is limited.

It's Tax Time... What Do I Do with My W-2?

Guest speaker, Reynaldo Arellano, C.P.A. will answer your questions about what to do with your W-2 and filing an income tax return. Even if your parents declare you as a dependent on their income tax return, you still need to file your own return – and you may be getting money back. This workshop will be given twice this evening. All students enrolled in Personal Finance for College are required to attend. Strongly recommended for all student workers.

Leadership Conference

How do you become a Student leader at Menlo? Opportunities include Student Government, Clubs, Resident Life, Peer Mentors, Peer Counselors and more. The day starts with a Dress for Success workshop and fashion show, followed by a panel of student leaders to give you an overview of what they are doing. Small group workshops follow so you can learn about opportunities next fall. Lunch will be provided.

Annual Business Etiquette Dinner

Business etiquette is much more than just how to hold your knife and fork. Learn how to network and exchange business cards, common meal challenges and solutions, and hear stories of how to successfully navigate a job interview held during a meal. Seating is limited. Reservations and a $10 deposit are required to hold your place. Your deposit will be refunded when your check in for the event.

SpeedNetworking Night Two

"What’s My Major?"- "What’s My Talent?" -"Where’s My Career?"  Exploring Your Path from Major to Career

During the first hour, students meet mystery alumni, where blindfolded students ask alumni questions to gain clues on identifying the alumni’s profession. Next, students circulate among the alumni tables, grouping professionals from a variety of industries, for example, finance, social media, real estate, investments, marketing, technology.
