Lady Oaks Win Cal Pac Conference Title

February 20, 2012

Menlo College women’s basketball team won the 2011-12 California Pacific Conference title on Saturday, February 18, for the first time since the 2006-07 season. They defeated Holy Names University, who held the title for the last five years, by 75:69.

“It feels great,” said Shannon Osborne, Head Women’s Basketball Coach.  “We worked really hard the last four years and to come out on top like this is just amazing.”

Freshman Jolise Limcaco led the Lady Oaks to victory, scoring a game high 26 points, including a stretch that saw her score 17 points to turn an 11-point deficit into a knotted up game with just over three minutes left.

“She's a warrior,” commented Osborne.  “Jolise never stopped fighting and single handedly broke HNU's press in the second half.”
