NASCAR Racecar Salutes Menlo Student Web Master | June 8, 2012 The No. 16 Ford Fusion highlights 33 local all-star blood donors including recent Menlo graduate Hanna Malak, '12. May 25, 2012 Hanna Malak, ‘12, gets recognized for his active participation and generous contributions to the American Red Cross by being featured on a NASCAR race car as one of the 33 local all-star blood donors. The NASCAR® Sprint® All-Star Race on May 19 in Charlotte, NC, was designed to honor the millions of blood donors across the country. “For Northern California, we submitted Hanna Malak's name to be included on the car for this Saturday's race,” said Jeff Meyer, CEO of American Red Cross of Northern California Blood Region. “He has been a wonderful partner to the Red Cross and we felt that his name was representative of what our Region is all about.” Hanna Malak sponsored several blood drives at Menlo College. During his first year at Menlo, he collected 206 units of blood with 3 drives. During his last year, he collected 224 units—a record number making Menlo College one of the larger blood drives at American Red Cross of Northern California. Hanna is also a member of the board of directors for the American Red Cross Northern California Blood Region, and a member of the American Red Cross National Youth Council.
