President Kelly Visits Extended Menlo Family

While in Japan on recruiting business, Menlo College President Dr. James Kelly visited members of the College community abroad. Dr. Kelly dined with Yoshito and Manami Takano, parents of sophomore Eimi (Amy) Takano. Mr. & Mrs. Takano are associated with the Kaizaka Medical Clinic, a home care support clinic. The hospital offers regular visits by a doctor at the patient's residence, performing various treatments for patients in need of special care.

He had lunch with Bill and Charo Ireton, parents of junior Will Ireton. Bill Ireton is President & Representative Director of Warner Entertainment Japan. He has broad oversight of all of Warner Bros. business in Japan, including theatrical production and distribution, television distribution, home video, consumer products, international cinemas, and online and emerging distribution technologies.

President Kelly enjoyed a Korean dinner at Ryugetsu-En in Yotsuya district with Mr. Simon Matoba SBA ’68, President of Matoba & Company, Inc., and Matoba Pearls. Mr. Matoba is the original Chairman of Menlo Kai, the Japanese Chapter of the Alumni Association of Menlo College.

Plans were made for the Menlo Kai Reunion gatherings set for November 2011, when the President returns to Japan.
