There are three things that matter in real estate: location, location, location. Tucked on the peninsula among beaches, mountains, and state parks, the Menlo College campus is located 30 miles south of San Francisco in Silicon Valley – one of the world’s most entrepreneurial and innovative locations with exceptional opportunities for experience-based learning. The towns of Menlo Park and Palo Alto are within walking distance, and our area is one of the wealthiest and safest neighborhoods in all of the United States.
The Silicon Valley is located within the southern reaches of the Bay Area, and is home to most of the technology-industry leaders, including Google, Yahoo!, eBay, Facebook, Cisco, Apple, Oracle, Marvell, Intel and Hewlett-Packard. (Consequently, the area has the most millionaires and billionaires in the United States per capita.)
Menlo College is located in Atherton, a scenic, wooded residential area with expansive, quiet streets perfect for walks and jogging. Exclusive estates, elegant gardens and heritage trees dominate this quiet, small community of approximately 7,000 residents. In 2024, Forbes magazine placed Atherton’s zip code of 94027 at #1 on its annual list of America’s most expensive zip codes. With a median home price of $7,750,000, Atherton is one of the wealthiest and safest neighborhoods in the United States.
The natural beauty of the Northern California is an outdoor recreation wonderland. State parks and open space offer outdoor enthusiasts countless ways to experience nature at its best. North of the Golden Gate Bridge is Muir Woods National Monument, an old-growth, coastal redwood forest, amazing beaches, such as the Point Reyes National Seashore, and hiking trails galore. California’s famous Wine Country is also in the area, home to hundreds of vineyards and wineries. Also nearby are breathtaking open space preserves such as Henry W Coe State Park, Big Basin Redwood State Park, and Castle Rock State Park.
Menlo College is midway between San Francisco and San Jose in Atherton, California, on the San Francisco Peninsula. The towns of Menlo Park and Palo Alto are within walking distance, and are known for their tree-lined streets featuring distinctive boutiques, shops, and outstanding eateries that serve cuisine to suit any taste. Also nearby is the Stanford Shopping Center, an upscale open-air mall. Coastal areas with beaches and other outdoor recreation facilities are also easily accessible from the Menlo College campus. And of course the area is renowned for its weather: the summer months are almost invariably warm and dry – frequently in the low eighties with cooler evenings.
