In this course, we will delve into the intricacies of valuation models, equipping students with the analytical skills necessary to inform investment choices and guide strategic managerial decisions. We’ll explore the foundational theories, concepts, and principles that underpin the valuation process, with a special focus on diverse business types. Our practical approach will involve hands-on application using case studies from publicly traded companies. Additionally, we will expand our examination to encompass the valuation challenges presented by international firms, private entities, and emerging start-ups. A dedicated module will address the valuation of complex financial structures commonly seen in venture capital-backed start-ups, employing cutting-edge tools and techniques. We will also venture into the advanced territories of real options valuation and Monte Carlo simulation methods to prepare students for the dynamic and unpredictable nature of the fintech industry.
