Biography

Born in Seoul, South Korea , where I earned my B.F.A in arts and craft from Sookmyung Women’s University and received a teaching credential in Fine Arts. After moving to the United States, I completed my M.F.A in Concept Illustration for Animation with a focus on Character Design at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
For over 20 years, I have taught art to students of all ages in the South Bay Area, and these teaching experiences have deeply shaped who I am as an artist and educator. My studio practice combines my background in art & craft and character design, leading me to create ceramic -based tile works with my signature characters to life. I have shared this work through exhibitions in San Jose, Berkeley, and San Francisco.
In addition to teaching at Menlo College, I also advise a high school volunteer art collective and take part in community art projects. I believe art is both a personal treasure and a way of giving back- a bridge that connects creativity across generations.
