Dr. Rafinejad has extensive academic and business experience.
Dr. Rafinejad has been an adjunct professor at Menlo College and Stanford University for many years. Prior to Menlo, he was the provost and professor for 13 years at Presidio Graduate Business School in San Francisco. His academic pursuits have centered around sustainable product development and manufacturing, a field of study that has become increasingly vital today. His dedication to this area of research is evident through his publication of a book on Sustainable Product Innovation in 2017 and co-authorship of numerous case studies and papers in the field of sustainability. In 2007, he authored his first book on Innovation, Product Development, and Commercialization, showcasing his deep understanding of these critical subjects.
Beyond his academic accomplishments, Dr. Rafinejad has an extensive professional background including over three decades of experience in product innovation and senior executive management in the semiconductor and solar energy industries. He held corporate vice president positions at both Applied Materials and Lam Research Corporations.
Dr. Rafinejad’s influence extends beyond academia and industry. He founded Blue Dome Consulting for Sustainability Company, which collaborates with high-tech executives to guide product and business leadership for sustainable development.
His educational journey includes attaining a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from UC Berkeley.
