Join us at Menlo College this summer while you complete your local internship! Menlo is conveniently located in Atherton, California on the San Francisco Peninsula, right in the middle of Silicon Valley.  Enjoy our serene park-like campus and live among more than 250 other college students and interns from all across the world.

Menlo College offers summer housing in three on-campus residence halls and across two price levels to suit your budget and preferences.  Reserve your room for the duration of your internship or come early and stay late and explore the Bay Area! Space is limited for each option, so please don’t hesitate to register and pay your deposit to claim your choice of room for summer 2025.  This housing is popular and will sell out quickly.  A waitlist will be created after all spots are filled.

Last Check-Out: August 08, 2025

If your internship starts before these dates or ends after these dates you will need to make separate accommodations off campus for that time period. NO exceptions can be made to this time frame.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Housing Application

Registration Platform

Menlo College’s registration platform is FMX.  Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis based on the date and time you submit your reservation in FMX.  Please follow the instructions closely to avoid any delay.  Conference Services staff will send you an invoice through FMX for your deposit within 7 days of receiving your application.  Please be sure to check your e-mail for notification that your invoice has been created.  You will have 7 days from receipt of the invoice to submit payment for your deposit.  Once your $250 deposit is paid, your reservation is confirmed.  You will be able to see that it is paid directly in your FMX account.  If you do not pay your deposit within 7 days, your reservation will be forfeited to another resident.

Payment is accepted by credit card and ACH directly in FMX, or by wire transfer.  Additional payment details can be found in your invoice in FMX.  Please contact us at conferences@menlo.edu with any questions you may have.

Premium Housing

John Arrillaga Residence Hall

The John Arrillaga Residence Hall is the newest housing complex on campus. Your stay includes the room, complimentary shared laundry facilities in the building, all utilities, and access to Wi-Fi and in-room Ethernet. Rooms include a bed, desk, desk chair, and a wardrobe or dresser for each occupant in the room. There are 4 bathrooms per floor. You also have access to study rooms (2 per floor), a relaxation lounge, gaming lounge, and movie lounge.

Standard Housing

Howard Hall

Howard Hall provides an intimate living experience as a suite-style residence hall.  Each suite features six rooms, two single-occupancy and four double-occupancy.  Ten residents share each suite, which includes a communal bathroom with multiple stalls, private showers, and sinks.

For the double-occupancy option, you may designate your own roommate or we can assist with pairing you with another intern.  Rooms in Howard suites will be assigned by gender.  Single rooms feature a bed, desk, wardrobe, set of drawers, and desk chair.  Double-occupancy rooms may feature two or three sets of this furniture.  No furniture may be removed from rooms.

El Camino Hall

El Camino Hall is nestled conveniently at the front of campus among beautiful maple trees and a rose garden.  This residence offers only single-occupancy rooms and is designated as mixed-gender.  There is one gender-neutral communal bathroom for the 28 residents in El Camino Hall, featuring multiple stalls, private showers, and sinks.

All rooms feature a bed, desk, wardrobe,  set of drawers, and desk chair. No furniture may be removed from rooms.

Amenities

Dining Options

Menlo College’s Dining Hall is open for all-you-care-to-eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner most of the summer. Enjoy dinner every night that the Dining Hall is open with a summer Dinner Pass, purchase packs of 10 Anytime Meals, or both! Please note that cuisine option in the summer are limited as compared to the school year due to less people utilizing the Dining Hall. Menus will be published online two weeks in advance.

Meal packs of 10 meals can be added for $130. The Campus Store is also open all summer, with snacks and to-go options available for purchase 7 days a week.

On-Campus Parking

Menlo College is close to Caltrain and there is a bus stop directly in front of campus. However, if you will bring a car, add a parking pass to your reservation for $50. Single-day passes can be purchased for $5 per day.

Fitness Center Access

If you’re a gym rat, look no further than our on-campus fitness center! For those residents looking to work out this summer, add summer-long Fitness Center access for just $75.

Refrigerator / Microwave

Need a fridge and microwave? Request a refrigerator/microwave combo when you reserve your room for $250 and the unit will be in your room upon move-in. Tip: Most interns add a fridge.

Safety

Did you know that Menlo College was voted one of the *10 safest schools in America? Exterior residence hall doors are locked 24 hours daily and secured with electronic access control. Campus safety officers are on patrol 24-7 and always available in person or by phone, day or night.

Internet Access

Menlo College offers free high-speed wireless internet access everywhere on campus. We cannot provide wired ethernet connections.

Complimentary Laundry Facilities

Laundry facilities are conveniently located in every residence hall, and their usage is included at no additional charge. Bring your own linens and pillow or we can provide a set for the summer for $25. Linens include a fitted sheet, flat sheet, blanket, pillow, pillowcase, and towel.

Payment Information

There is a $250 non-refundable deposit to reserve a room. This deposit will be applied to the total cost of your housing. 50% of the remainder of your housing fee is due prior to move-in, NO EXCEPTIONS. The remainder of the fee is due June 23, 2025. After April 23, 2025, deposit and first payment are due to reserve your space. Please contact Menlo College Internship Housing at conferences@menlo.edu if you need to change your dates or cancel your application. Cancellations can be made without penalty up to 30 days before your scheduled arrival date on campus, less the $250, which serves as the mandatory non-refundable deposit.

Rooms are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, determined by date of completed registration and payment of deposit. These special housing accommodations are designed to house serious academic students only. All participants are expected to follow Menlo College policies and procedures, as well as California laws. Menlo College reserves the right to evict students found to be in violation of College policy and/or California Law, and your payment(s) may be forfeited.

Employers & Group Sponsors

Employers and group sponsors can take advantage of the opportunity to reserve space for their interns as a block of rooms You will receive a single invoice for all services rendered.

Room assignments will be done through Menlo Conference Services, and we will do our best to keep your groups together.
