The health and safety of the Menlo College campus community is our number one priority. We consulted early in the pandemic with a team from Bay Area medical schools, and we continue to closely monitor the status of COVID-19. On this page, you will find the latest information about Menlo College’s actions and response. Updated Menlo College COVID-19 Policy Effective: August 19, 2024 All students, faculty, and staff are strongly encouraged to receive, and remain up to date on, the COVID-19 vaccine. Managing COVID-19 If You Have Symptoms: If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms , COVID-19 antigen tests are available at no cost through the Office of Student Affairs in the Administration Building or from Menlo College Security. Please wear a mask if you need to pick up a test in person, or ask a friend or colleague to pick one up for you. If You Test Positive: All students, faculty, and staff who test positive for COVID-19 with an antigen or PCR test should complete the COVID-19 Notification form, isolate, and follow the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) guidance, which includes: Staying home and away from others (including not going to class, work, athletic practice, or other campus activity or event) Isolating until “…for at least 24 hours, symptoms are improving overall, and if a fever was present, it has been gone without use of a fever-reducing medication.” For an additional 5 days, maintaining distance and continuing to wear a KN95 mask around others. Continuing to wash and sanitize hands frequently Please contact your relevant professors, supervisor, and athletic coach and let them know you have tested positive. You can find more information about determining when it is safe to return to public spaces on campus here. Residential Students in Isolation: Students living on campus should isolate in place. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, residential students should follow these guidelines: Stay inside your room with the door closed Keep windows open when possible Wear a mask at all times, except when eating, drinking, or showering When possible, avoid entering bathrooms when others are present Wash and sanitize your hands and surfaces frequently Visitors are not allowed in your dorm room while you are infected Refrain from entering the dining hall, laundry facilities, the library, or the fitness center or training room If you have a roommate, advise them to follow the same recommendations regarding mask-wearing and handwashing If you are unable to have a roommate or friend drop off meals from the Dining Hall, please contact Assistant Director of Housing Operations Richard Kiel in Student Affairs at richard.kiel@menlo.edu to arrange for meal delivery. If you have questions about COVID-19 policies or procedures, need to obtain a KN-95 mask or antigen test kit, or need general support, please contact Ashley Brankovich, Health and Wellness Coordinator in Student Affairs, at ashley.brankovich@menlo.edu.
