Accounting

The Accounting minor allows students to learn the development and use of finance and accounting information by decision-makers. The Accounting minor is valuable to students seeking an understanding of the accounting process and its applications in modern society. Accounting is the language of business, and fluency in accounting opens many doors. With an accounting minor, students learn to appreciate the importance of accounting as it pertains to other career tracks such as consulting, finance, investments, project management, operations, entrepreneurship and general management.

The Accounting minor requires 12 units.

TIER ONE: THE FOLLOWING COURSES ARE REQUIRED (9 UNITS)

  • ACC 301: Intermediate Financial Accounting I
  • ACC 321: Tax Accounting: Individual
  • ACC 412: Cost Accounting

TIER TWO: CHOOSE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING COURSES: (3 UNITS)

  • ACC 300: Accounting Ethics
  • ACC 302: Intermediate II
  • ACC 322: Tax Accounting: Business
  • ACC 311: Accounting Information Systems
