The Real Estate Minor will provide foundational knowledge and some practice in preparation for careers where real estate companies may be clients or customers, particularly in finance and accounting. Moreover, real estate is an aspect of the business of many types of firms from corporate enterprises in the retail, industrial, health and tech sectors, to as well as non-profit organizations and governmental agencies at the local, state and national level. The Real Estate Minor can be combined with business majors such as in accounting, finance and marketing but also may be advantageous for students majoring in sports management, international management, and business analytics all of which have real estate aspects to many positions. Human resources majors may also find a minor in real estate attractive as human resource offices of large corporations often are combined with facilities and event management and having some real estate knowledge would be a positive factor in advancing a career in those firms.
