About Menlo College
Menlo College is a tight-knit community of exceptional, involved people. Faculty members teach and mentor from their perspectives as scholars, entrepreneurs, managers, and community leaders. A non-profit, four-year school, Menlo College attracts students from all over the world, young adults who are committed to learning, playing intercollegiate sports, starting and leading organizations, and volunteering in the community. In support of experiential learning, all business majors at Menlo College are required to complete a 6-unit internship prior to graduation. Psychology majors are also strongly encouraged to complete a for-credit internship. The Menlo College Internship Program is designed to help students apply the knowledge and skills they gain in the classroom to professional settings. Menlo’s internship program was deemed the most innovative in the state of California in 2019.
Athletics features prominently at Menlo, with more than 50% of students participating as varsity athletes, and yet more students engaged in athletics through club, intramural, and recreation sports. The Department of Athletics strives to complement the Menlo College experience by developing future leaders through its intercollegiate athletics program. Talented and driven coaching and support staff recruit student-athletes who display leadership skills, strong character, a commitment to academics and a high level of athletic skill. With quality programs, the department is a source of pride for the College and the surrounding community; in the most recently-completed full season, we recorded six team conference titles, two national team titles, nine individual national championships, and 21 All-Conference awardees — the best year in the College’s 96-year history. We expect better years to still be ahead.
Athletics at Menlo College reflects our commitment to providing an equitable, supportive and diverse environment that will teach student-athletes to compete with integrity and sportsmanship, act responsibly and take on leadership roles on their teams, in the classroom, on the College campus and in the community.
The campus is located 30 miles south of San Francisco, in the heart of Silicon Valley – one of the world’s most entrepreneurial and innovative locations. Silicon Valley is renowned as an innovation incubator overflowing with opportunities for experience-based learning.
In recognition of the quality of Menlo’s program, the College was named “Best in the West” by The Princeton Review in their most recent ratings, a recognition that has been earned for more than ten uninterrupted years. AffordableCollegesOnline.org (AC Online) brought additional recognition to the quality of the Menlo College experience when they named Menlo as one of the 4-year colleges in California with the best lifetime return on investment (ROI).
