Financial Technology (FinTech) is changing the landscape of the Financial Industry with innovative technologies, lower costs, faster processing speeds, customer engagement, and seamless user experience. Banks and Financial institutions face high competition from fintech firms known as challengers, which essentially offer the same products at lower cost and provide superior user experience. In this course, students will develop both theoretical and applied knowledge about how and why fintech is meeting finance and changing the future of economies. Students will learn how technologies penetrate the Financial Industry and have become dominated by global players rather than local players. Furthermore, students will study applications of technologies and the uniformity of financial regulation across the world.
