Parking on Campus

All students, faculty, staff, and visitors are obligated to adhere to the College’s rules and regulations at all times. Safety and parking enforcement are the purview of Campus Security.
Parking is available in three primary lots along the perimeter of the campus, as indicated in the map shown below.

Parking Permits

Please see signs in each parking lot for information. Parking on campus requires a Menlo College visitor parking pass or permit between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM daily (365 days/year); in the Dining Hall lot, this requirement applies between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

Parking passes or permits require that you know your vehicle license plate. Your license plate becomes your permit; there are no stickers or paper permits to pick up or lose.

Visitors to Menlo College please purchase a Visitor Parking Pass.

Menlo College Students, Faculty, Staff, Resident Staff/Faculty, Trustees, Contractors, and students/interns parking in summer, please use your approved email to register for a Parking Permit. Parking Permit holders may want to log in on a mobile device so that they can change their license plate number from their mobile device any time, for example when bringing a different car to campus.

The flagpole area at the main entrance is the only approved location for drop off/pick up and ride shares. Drivers who stay with their vehicles at this location do not require a parking pass or parking permit.

All food and grocery drop offs must go to 45 Alejandra Avenue, which is adjacent to Kratt Hall. Drivers will not be gone from their vehicles long enough to get a parking citation because the food lockers are right there.

If you need further assistance, please call Security (650) 400-5837.

Please note:

  • All vehicles on campus must have a permit and be parked in a marked space consistent with their permit e.g., no student parking ever in Staff/Faculty/Resident parking spaces.
  • Having a permit does not guarantee an available parking space.
  • A citation, booting and/or towing are the enforcement actions which may be taken when vehicles are parked in violation of Menlo College and/or local regulations.
  • All parts of the vehicle must be inside one parking space, generally indicated by two white lines. Do not park beyond the ends of parking rows or in fire lanes.
  • Charging electric vehicles and PHEVs without authorization is prohibited. Drivers may not plug into any electric outlet on campus, but may charge at the six Tesla Universal Wall Connectors behind the library. Download the Tesla app, create an account, add payment method and EV details. Below the charging station map, click the hamburger icon, select 0-70 kW, click Private Destination Chargers, then Apply Filters to see our chargers. Each has a NACS connector and J1772 adapter.
  • Do not block bollards, ramps, loading zones, or dumpsters.
  • Parking is not permitted in Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) spaces without a state-issued parking placard. Reserved spaces, such as ADA, delivery, Staff/Faculty/Resident, etc., are reserved 24 hours, seven days per week, unless otherwise posted. This includes holidays and when the College is on break.
  • The College does not guarantee the safety of your vehicle.
  • First-year students are not permitted to park cars on campus.
  • Avoid parking a car on campus; there is not enough parking. Alternatives include ride-share, rent, borrow, Zipcar and other car-shares, 511.org & samTrans.
