Biography

Dr. Mendoza is an Adjunct Professor of Mathematics at Menlo College specializing in teaching first year and at-risk students. His teaching methods are aimed at helping students overcome their fears and anxieties of math by focusing on the high-level analytical aspects of the subject rather than low-level prescriptive formulae. In addition, through his lectures and one-on-one guidance, he helps students develop the tools and methods needed to critically evaluate and apply information, preparing them for life after college and their professional careers.

Outside of Menlo College, Dr. Mendoza is the National Aeronautics & Space Administration’s Engineering and Safety Center (NESC) Chief Engineer at the Ames Research Center (ARC) at Moffett Field, California. In this role, Dr. Mendoza Performs engineering assessments of high-risk/high-priority issues and problems associated with space and atmospheric flight.

Dr. Mendoza performed his undergraduate and graduate work at the California Polytechnic State University, and the University of California, Berkeley, respectively.
