Mikael Hilmersson joined Menlo College in August 2024. Before that, he was a Full Professor in International Business and Director of the Centre of International Business Studies at the University of Gothenburg. He has held senior academic positions at Halmstad University and Linnaeus University, where he earned his PhD in 2011. In 2016, he was awarded the title of docent at Uppsala University and was later declared competent as a Full Professor in International Marketing at Linnaeus University. Mikael’s research has been widely published, and in 2020 he was ranked among the top five global researchers on SME internationalization. In 2024, he won the FIU/Best Theory Paper Award at the Academy of International Business conference in Seoul. With over 12 years of full-time teaching experience, he has led and examined courses at all academic levels, focusing on research integration and industry collaboration. He has supervised more than 100 theses and eight PhD students, and has served on doctoral committees and as a faculty opponent. Mikael is also an accomplished journal reviewer and editor, with roles including Associate Editor at the Journal of Business Research and board memberships for several top-tier journals.
