Originally from Texas, Victor Vargas has taught at several major higher education institutions in the Bay Area, including San José State University, UC Berkeley, Saint Mary’s College, and California College of the Arts. His teaching experience spans dozens of college-level English composition courses, as well as graduate courses in critical studies, ethnic studies, and art history, among other subjects. His publications focus on postcolonialism and, more recently, the decolonial.
The only social media platform he uses extensively is Strava, which makes him feel at home in a college community with such a high percentage of student-athletes.
